The Lord’s Prayer

in the plain form in which the head of the family
shall teach it to his household

The Fifth Petition

“And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”

What does this mean?

Answer: We pray in this petition that our heavenly Father may not look upon our sins, and on their account deny our prayers, for we neither merit nor deserve those things for which we pray. Although we sin daily and deserve nothing but punishment, we nevertheless pray that God may grant us all things by his grace. And assuredly we on our part will heartily forgive and cheerfully do good to those who may sin against us.^{^[1]}

Meet Joshua Palmer...

We are thrilled to announce that CLC member Josh will be attending Concordia Seminary - St. Louis, Fall Semester 2010. In preparation, Josh and family moved to St. Louis the end of January. At that time Josh wrote... "the kids were hoping for snow"... as of March 1st he writes... "although they enjoyed the snow, [they] are altogether glad to be rid of it and get a little warmer weather!"

Palmer Update: Josh continues to study his Greek in hopes of testing out of it, and he is also taking a speech class. We have gotten to know a few other seminary families, which has helped us feel closer to the community.

July Update: Josh tested out of his Greek class! Congratulations Josh!

The children are all doing well. The newest baby is due in August. We are all enjoying the green grass and the fireflies that come with summers in Missouri.

August Update: The summer has been very busy for the Palmers; child # 6, son #5 born August 5th. Joshua Edmund, 7lbs 1oz 19 in. All are doing well.

The last phase in the restoration of the church is in progress. All aspects of the restoration are completed on the inside and painting of the outside is complete to the point of painting the trim. Here's the painter hard at work... with temps ~~daring~~ over 100 degrees, it is hard/hot work!
