Pastor Michael Morehouse
Pastor Morehouse was born and reared in Toledo, Ohio. In 1978, he, with his new bride,
Marty, moved to a small lake outside Hudson, Michigan. There God blessed them with three sons, Daniel, David and Jacob. Now, after living in Catalina for over 10 years, God has blessed Pastor and Marty with their first grandchild, Ashlie Rose Morehouse (Dad Daniel and Mom Lexie). A fourth son, Hussein, has been unofficially adopted into the household upon his arrival from Mosul, Iraq.
Pr. Morehouse graduated from Adrian College, Magna Cum Laude, in 1987; his undergraduate majors were Business Administration/Management and German. Upon graduation, Rev. Morehouse attended U.S. Army Flight School and became certified as a helicopter pilot with the Michigan Army National Guard. He then worked full-time as a stock broker for Shearson Lehman Hutton, and then independently contracted to Lutheran Brotherhood and other financial organizations as a District Representative from 1990-1996.
In 1994, Rev. Morehouse began the Master's of Divinity Program at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, graduated in 1998, and accepted his current Divine Call at Catalina Lutheran Church.
In 1999, Pr. Morehouse switched his part-time military career field from aviation to chaplaincy. As a chaplain, CH Morehouse served in combat during Operation Iraqi Freedom from October 2004 - January 2006. He retired from active reserve service April 2006.
Currently Rev. Morehouse is studying toward the attainment of a Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.
In addition to his studies, Pr. Morehouse is an avid motorcyclist along with Marty - they each own and daily ride Harley-Davidsons, and an amateur classic car restorer. Together with Marty, they have hosted people in their home as those individuals turn new life corners and re-establish themselves as productive members of society.
