Liturgical Vestments worn during the Divine Service.

A question was asked, “Since a pastor may wear a chasuble to indicate the Service of the Sacrament of the Altar; why may he choose not to wear it for the Sacrament of Holy Baptism?” Answer: The pastor may wear a white Alb (robe) for all services, whether he wears a chasuble over it or not. The Alb represents our baptismal garments – being clothed with Christ’s righteousness that covers all one’s sins. Therefore, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism is remembered in the wearing of white by the pastor and other attendants in the Lord’s Sanctuary at all divine services where such attire is the tradition.
