The Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptizer is on 6/24 each year, and represents the beginning of St. Johntide. It is also my birthday, and why my middle name is John.

At CLC, we celebrate subsections of the long green Trinity season, beginning with: I. Trinity Sunday; II. St. Johntide begins on 6/24 (The Nativity of St. John the Baptizer); III. St. Lawrencetide begins on 8/10; IV. St. Michaeltide (St. Michael and All Angels) begins on 9/29; and finally, V. The Struggle Against Satan begins on the third-last Sunday of the church year. Depending on how late Trinity begins in a year, sometimes St. Johntide occurs fairly soon after Trinity Sunday. Each sub-section has a different theme within the Trinity season. We choose to highlight a theme hymn for these sub-sections of the Trinity season to bring out the focus of these sub-sections in the One-Year Lectionary. Our Pastor can certainly provide you considerably more context on all this, but these are the highlights of the Trinity season divisions. Blessings to you this Trinity season!
