The Congregation supported our Pickle & Jam Sale last Sunday with $426 worth of support. Praise the Lord for their kind hearts.
There’s more information about the Hope Fest and where it is being held. It will be inside the Tucson Convention Center on October 28 from 9:00-2:00. There will be no charges for the Veterans to have their tables. We have two tables & 8 chairs reserved for Operation Barnabas. Bag packing will take place on Oct. 17 at the Church. It will be a busy day on October 28 with the Hope Fest in the morning and the Reformation picnic at church in the late afternoon.
Russ & I were moved by an incident at the Family General Store in Catalina. While we were in line paying for 75 puzzlebooks for the Veterans, a couple came up to us and handed us a $9 donation to use towards filling the care packages. It was totally unexpected.
On Nov. 4, we will have a table or two at the Vendor’s Fair at CLC. We will have a raffle for the large planting pot that was donated to us by Pottery Fiesta in Catalina.
There will still be pickles & jams for sale and I plan to make peach, apple, and cherry pies and crisps. If anyone else wants to donate some other baked goods like brownies, bars, breads, etc., that could add to our sales.
Claire, at Claire’s Café, has given us permission to hold the Memorial Service out on the patio and to hand out the $10 food tickets for Veteran’s meals. We could also have a fund-raising raffle held there, if we don’t sell enough tickets on Nov. 4.
