Today, as usual, we have heard the tone set for the theme of the four primary readings appointed for this week. That was, as usual, delivered into our ears from the five-centuries-old Collect prayer. There we confessed that we all are poor, wretched sinners. We then declared to ourselves—not to God for He knows all things—why we continue to find ourselves in such a state. From that, we implored God to grant us His forgiveness and the Holy Spirit’s cleansing. That we did with the biblical understanding that those marvelous treasures God continues to deliver to us through our hearing His Holy Word….For more, click on the title above.
