Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023 – Heavenly Father, as Americans you have blessed us with good government. At times we may become boastful that we have the best government in the history of the world. With this blessing it is easy to become prideful and arrogant, even forgetting that as Your Word tells us there is no authority except from You and that the authorities that exist have been instituted by You. It is because of You that we have been blessed. Lord, preserve us when our authorities go their own way and do not follow the wisdom given by You, that we do not fall into the trap of blaming You or following them into destruction. We pray that You hold us fast in Your Word and wisdom, that we can be salt and light to the world. In the name of our Triune Lord. Amen.
