Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023 – Lord God, heavenly Father, from right after Adam’s fall, You promised the Savior to bring forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation to eternity. You delivered on Your promise in the death and resurrection of Your beloved Son, and in the sending of Your Holy Spirit, with Whom You sealed us in Baptism as a down payment on that precious inheritance with which You have graced us. When in this vale of tears, we experience times of trial, You encourage us to remind You of Your promises to us. We thank You that in Christ You have made us Your children, and gifted us that same Spirit, by Whom we may cry out to You as our Abba! Daddy! to call to our minds Your promises. We confess that as fallen sinners, we often try to rely on ourselves and forget all You have done and continue to do for us. And when this fails us, we sink into despair, experiencing a taste of that very hell which we deserve. We know that Your way is best, are truly sorry, and humbly repent. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us, forgive us, renew us, and lead us, as You have promised so to do. Keep us ever thankful for all You have done and continue to do for us and through us. Move us to continue to support Your work at Catalina Lutheran Church, all to the honor and glory of Your Name alone. Amen.
