The meeting was opened with the “Our Father.” 12 members were in attendance.
In December there were 10 members from Catalina Lutheran that laid wreathes on graves at the Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Marana. All 3,200 graves received a wreath. This was part of the “Wreaths Across America” Program.
Women Warriors has disbanded and we are looking for another 501c3 group to vet and distribute gas and food gift cards for women veterans. The $3,000 LWML Grant that we applied for needs a new organization to take the place of Women Warriors. We are working with the VA to make the replacement.
There is an Arizona Heroes Memorial being built in Oro Valley for Veterans, First Responders, and Health Care Workers. It will be located in the Park at 810 W. Naranja Dr. It will cover 2.58 acres and will be free and open to the public.

The Stand Down is Wednesday, March 13 at the Ramada Inn located at 777 W. Cushing St. We will be providing 50 goody bags for adult veterans and 20 bags for children. The Congregation will be receiving a list of items needed for the bags and would like donations from anyone who can help. We are enlisting several other Lutheran Churches in the area to help us with the collections. All donated items should be placed in the Narthex of the Church in the containers for Barnabas by Sunday, March 3. Bags will be packed at CLC on Thurs., March 7 at 1:00 P.M. Forty more Bibles will be ordered which will be handed out the day of the Stand Down. Little Arch Books will be ordered for the children’s bags.
The next regular meeting will be February 15 at 1PM at the Church.
Vicar Spangler closed the meeting with prayers for the families of 13 fallen soldiers.
