Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023 – Gracious God, we know through Your Word that there is no authority except from You and that the authorities that exist here on earth have been instituted by You. It is all too easy to become afraid when looking around and seeing the chaos, strife, malice and hatred of Your Word. It is all too easy to put our trust in princes to be the answer to these cares and troubles of life. Forgive us Lord when we cast You aside, and trust in the temporal princes instead of trusting in You, our eternal God, who loves us with an everlasting love. Let us always remember our citizenship is in heaven, around your throne, and there is no need to be afraid or misled by the world but remember that “In this world you will have tribulation. But to be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Comfort us Lord, by Your mercy and grace in our dear Savior Jesus. In His name we pray. Amen.
